European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) - Applied research in companies as an innovation driver. The European Digital Innovation Hub Südwestfalen (EDIH SWF) an EU-funded collaborative project that is led by 6 partners and is committed to bridging the gap between applied research and real-world applications to drive innovation forward. Our focus is on artificial intelligence, 3D printing, e-health, cybersecurity, and their potential use in companies. In addition, we offer support measures in the area of expertise sharing or funding consulting and deal with the promotion of comprehensive digitalization competencies as well as the development of qualification concepts. We particularly support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in the South Westphalia region. More than 150 of these renowned 'hidden champions' in niche markets are supported by us in jointly shaping the challenges of digitization. Through close collaboration, people-centric design and development of technologies, we accompany SMEs on their transformation journey to maintain their innovative strength in the long term. We firmly believe that successful transformation is only possible through a social-partnership orientation and close collaboration. That is why we actively involve employees in the development of new concepts and offer them comprehensive training and qualification opportunities. In addition to informative events and workshops, EDIH Südwestfalen develops demonstrators and prototypes in cooperation with local SMEs. These groundbreaking innovations not only demonstrate their potential, but can also be applied to other companies and use cases.
