Edinburgh Labour Students

Edinburgh Labour Students is one of the biggest and most active political student societies at the University of Edinburgh. We have a proud and illustrious history, with former members including ex-Prime Minister Gordon Brown, the late Robin Cook, and Secretary of State for Scotland Ian Murray MP. That said, we’re really a group of like-minded friends who enjoy learning from each other, debating, campaigning, and most of all having a laugh. We meet every week for events ranging from our trademark Pint and Policy to panels with lots of different guest speakers. We’re renowned for our campaigning abilities whether it be each other’s individual projects or fighting Holyrood and Westminster elections.
