University Targu Mures Medical Campus Hamburg (UMCH) is a branch of the European Georg Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Science, and Technology of Targu Mures. The university was founded in 1945 and has been training medical students for over 70 years. Currently more than 11,000 students are enrolled there. The international medical campus UMCH is located in Hamburg's huge, planned university and research park Science City Bahrenfeld.
Digital campus
At UMCH, future doctors learn in one of the best equipped medical training facilities in Europe. The entire campus has a state-of-the-art digital infrastructure. Students have the opportunity to learn both in laboratories with the latest medical technology as well as in multimedia lecture halls, seminar rooms and learning areas or online, made possible by the implementation of groundbreaking e-learning and streaming technology.

International medical education
UMCH is the only medical faculty in Germany where human medicine can be studied in English. The theoretical contents of the preclinical and clinical stages are taught completely in English. From the third year onwards, bedside teaching in German takes place in academic teaching hospitals throughout Germany. Through this bilingual medical education, UMCH students lay the foundation for a successful international career.
