EduTech Kids is a charity scheme for disadvantaged primary and secondary school kids. We aim to help alleviate digital poverty in education by providing laptops, smartphones and other digital equipment for their homes, donated through mobilising our network of corporate partners.
The main aim of this scheme is to help boost digital inclusion for young people and to close the gap in education and development which has widened further for disadvantaged communities due to Covid-19. This scheme is part of our charity’s wider response to Covid-19 and economic downturn which disproportionately impacts disadvantaged and ethnic minority families.
The EduTech Kids scheme is part of the Fardad Foundation, an independent UK registered charity set up in 2017 to support young people from disadvantaged and ethnic minority backgrounds. The first programme, Migrant Leaders, was launched in 2017 to provide bespoke support to talented young 1st and 2nd generation migrants through mentoring, workshops, quality work experiences and connections with top corporates. By broadening their horizons and capturing opportunities well beyond their aspirations, they would fulfil their true career potential, consequently maximising their contributions to the British economy, society and communities.
