EEDB Research Lab. - UCY

The Energy & Environmental Design of Buildings Research Laboratory (EEDB Lab.), was founded in 2014 and is part of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Cyprus. The laboratory participates in several national and EU-funded research projects and the personnel are members of international associations and networks. Our group works on: • Architectural design and technology, • Energy and environmental design of buildings, • Innovative and sustainable construction components and materials, • Implementation of renewable energy technologies in the building and industrial sector, • Energy and environmental analysis of buildings and processes, • Industrial symbiosis, • Low-carbon districts, cities and infrastructure, • Decarbonization of energy intensive processes and sectors. The goal of EEDB Research Lab., is to perform trans-disciplinary applied and fundamental research that can be contribute to and produce solutions for real-life problems. The Lab., collaborates with national and international academic institutions, industrial partners, non-profit and governmental organizations to assure that the outcomes of its activity are directly applicable to the actual needs of the society.
