About E-Europe Master’s Programme
E-Europe is a Master's Programme of the Department of European Studies at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", Sofia, Bulgaria. The programme examines the digital media ecosystem and media as a cultural industry within the framework of the European public sphere, and the EU's digital agenda. It covers practical aspects of digital content production and distribution, as well as the development of existing and new business models. It also explores the Internet’s role in supporting democratic civic participation and the shaping of the European framework for digital rights. Students engage with the major revisions of European Union law in fields such as media law, intellectual property, copyright, data protection, and IT regulation. Particular attention is given to the governance and regulation of digital and online platforms and the legal and policy measures aimed at addressing disinformation and harmful content. The programme follows major debates at the intersection of digital technologies, social media, and public policy, preparing students to navigate the challenges of the digital era.
