The opportunities for individuals with special needs that have graduated out of their local school system are embarrassingly inadequate. After high school, most people will either move on to some form of higher education or seek employment. Either way, their lives are, when compared to those with special needs, full of stimulating activities and social interactions which most would argue are essential in order to live a meaningful and satisfying life. For adults with special needs, however, the situation is often times the exact opposite. For these individuals, the social and recreational activities that were once provided during school hours are often times non-existent, leaving an overwhelming lack of activities from which to occupy one's time in a meaningful way. The Exceptional Foundation of Atlanta seeks to provide a solution to this serious and continually growing problem.
The Exceptional Foundation of Atlanta provides a comprehensive day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Specifically, we provide facilities and programming designed to meet the social and recreational needs of all participants.
