European Financial Congress

The European Financial Congress project comprises pragmatic debates of business, political and academic circles. The debates are held at conferences and specialist congresses, sector-related seminars as well as thematic steering committees and program boards meetings organized by the Gdańsk Institute for Market Economics - Gdańsk Academy of Banking. The project produces recommendations as well as carrying out expert analyses and studies into practical ways of implementing the recommendations. It also involves media debates focusing on how the recommendations are put into practice. The main subject areas of the European Financial Congress project are: - Security and stability of financial markets in the European Union - Challenges for the capital market development - Financing major infrastructural projects - Value-based management of strategic enterprises The European Financial Congress itself is held every year in Sopot, Poland. Its aim is to summarize the results of all the actions taken within the framework of the project throughout the year and to set directions and goals for further actions. The Congress is a debate about the security and stability of the European Union, about good solutions for the common success of Poland and the European Union. The distinguishing feature of European Financial Congress is its practical attitude. By the Recommendations announced at the end of the debate, the European Financial Congress indicates the steps to be taken in view of the challenges faced by the modern economy.
