About eFTI4ALL Project

The efficiency of freight transport and logistics is vital for the growth and competitiveness of the EU economy, the functioning of the internal market and the social and economic cohesion of all its regions. Multiple IT solutions are currently being used throughout Europe for the exchange of freight transport information. The incompatibility of these solutions often leads drivers to prefer paper documents, a costly and time-consuming process. The Regulation (EU)2020/1056 of 15 July 2020 on electronic freight transport information (the ‘eFTI Regulation’) aims to increase the efficiency of freight transport and logistics by replacing paper-based documentation with electronic data in all transport modes. It establishes a legal framework for road, rail, maritime and air transport operators to share information with enforcement authorities on the transportation of goods within the European Union in an electronic format. The eFTI4ALL project builds on the eFTI4EU project further contributing to the implementation of the eFTI Regulation by involving additional Member States and including economic operators, who together will develop and test the eFTI data exchange environment (both eFTI Gates and eFTI Platforms), explore new use cases (such as transport of dangerous goods and multimodal transport) and provides testing possibilities to investigate the interoperability between the eFTI Gates and eFTI Platforms. This will contribute to realising a fully integrated, streamlined electronic freight transport across EU. The eFTI4ALL consortium will assist five additional EU Member States (Sweden, Denmark, Malta, Luxembourg, and Greece) with the implementation of the eFTI Regulation, while also involving Poland to promote its adoption there. Project 101175974 — 23-EU-TG-eFTI4ALL is financed under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) program of the European Commission.
