Ehong Capital

Shanghai Ehong Capital, founded in 2007, is an equity investment institution and early practitioner of impact investing in China. Since its establishment, Ehong Capital has explicitly upheld its social value aiming at being an SRI institution. From 2007 to 2012, Ehong Capital mainly invested in finance, TMT, new energy & materials, and modern agriculture. From 2012 onwards, with reference to the global general guidelines and principles of impact investment, Ehong Capital has gradually formed its investment principles in sectors of sustainable agriculture, energy & environmental protection, health & eldercare, and quality education. Sectors and investment themes are selected primarily based on top-down analysis of social and environmental problems. In 2018, Ehe Impact Fund was established with philanthropic foundation being its anchor LP. With several successful exits, Ehong Capital has achieved competitive returns for investors and generated significant social and environmental benefits in emission reduction, poverty alleviation, coverage of vulnerable groups, supporting financial inclusion and facilitating employment. Due to its outstanding performance, Ehong Capital was awarded the Annual Investment Institution Award of China Social Enterprise and Impact Investment in 2017 as the first ever to receive this honor. We believe majority of the severe challenges of sustainable development the society has can be solved via commercial approaches.
