Ehsaas

The literal meaning of 'Ehsaas' is 'realization'. Ehsaas was founded in 2002 by like minded individuals under the leadership of Ms. Shachi Singh, (Gen. Sec., Ehsaas) with the realization that there are many children living in difficult circumstances where their rights are violated every day and we owe them a society and a system that is child friendly so that they can lead a life of dignity. Ehsaas has done pioneering work in the field of Child Rights especially child protection in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India at the child, societal and policy levels. Over the years, the organization has grown not only to intervene directly with children who are vulnerable but also to build the capacity of those who directly or indirectly work with children. Our unique strength has been 'Friends of Street Children' which comprises volunteers and contributors both individual and corporates that ensure the sustainability of our programs.
