EKAÏ, c’est le désir d’utiliser un cuir aussi noble que du cuir bovin, aussi esthétique que du cuir exotique, mais avec un esprit novateur et respectueux de l’environnement. Créée en 2020 à Paris par Margot Houdoux et Diane Mathé-Dumaine, EKAÏ bouscule l'image du luxe traditionnel avec une ligne de maroquinerie en cuir de poisson valorisé et issue de la consommation alimentaire. EKAÏ prone une façon de consommer plus responsable et durable, avec des produits imaginés, dessinés, conçus, et fabriqués à Paris limitant l'impact carbone. Cuir au tannage naturel, circuit court de production, et engament pour la protection marine sont les mots d’ordre de la marque ------- EKAÏ arose from the desire to use a leather that could be as resistant as bovine leather, as aesthetic as exotic leather, additionally to the motive of creating a brand with a notative spirit that could have a meaningful impact on the environment. Created in 2020 in Paris by two women, Margot Houdoux and Diane Mathé-Dumaine, EKAÏ is challenging traditional luxury practices with a first collection of small leather goods developed from recycled fish leather, and skins coming from the food industry. EKAÏ advocates for better consumption practices; sustainable and responsible, with products though, designed, developed and assembled in Paris thus limiting carbon footprint. Natural tanning of the skins, a short production process, and commitment for oceans’ protection and better fishing methods are as well core values for the brand.
