EK Consulting was founded on the possibility that communities can come together to preserve ways of life that are regionally and culturally unique while acknowledging the environmental pressures of climate change. Our work is rooted in a single ambition - to increase community resilience to climate change. Our approach bridges scientific and social understanding to contribute ideas that respect differences and amplify shared values. Our mission is to foster collaboration on environmental issues unique to rural areas. We do this by supporting nonprofits, NGOs, government agencies, private businesses, and community groups vested in the future resilience and sustainability of their communities. >>Partnerships & Coalition: Participation in working groups and collaborative efforts meant to drive consensus around climate mitigation and adaptation actions. >>Projects & Process: Leadership and operational support to activate and orchestrate various projects types; project management and process best practices. >>Climate Impacts Research: Primary and secondary research on climate impact drivers and other community issues; climate data downscaling and analysis. >>Education & Communications: Development and delivery of community education on scientific or social topics; communications strategy and development. >>Risk Assessment & Planning: Full-cycle risk assessment with mitigation and adaptation strategy development following national and international best practices. >>Climate Policy: Advocacy for policies that advance community resilience strategies and consider implications and equity for all constituencies.
