Ekibbo is starting operations in Mukono District with 500 smallholder coffee farmers, growing to 2,000 farmers in 2024. Our business model is to link farmers to a range of services – guaranteed markets, logistics support, training on improving production and agroforestry models, farm inputs, loans, carbon credit schemes, and we take a small fee for the linkages made. While coffee is the primary value chain, our model is to support farmers to grow a wider variety of crops and tree products, such as jackfruit, vanilla, cocoa and bamboo, that help the coffee trees to be more productive, while also providing additional income to the farmer and wider environmental benefits.
