EkoRent Oy was founded in Helsinki in March 2014, and was the first company in Finland to offer hourly-based rental of 100% electric vehicles for companies and private customers.
EkoRent Africa Ltd. was founded in Nairobi Kenya in December 2017, and an all-electric taxi hailing service NopeaRide launched in August 2018. In 2022 NopeaRide had the biggest 100% Electric taxi hailing fleet in Kenya and Africa.
EkoRent Oy perustettiin Helsingissä maaliskuussa 2014 ja oli ensimmäinen suomalainen yritys joka tarjosi täyssähköautojen tuntipohjaista vuokrausta yrityksille ja yksityishenkilöille.
Vuonna 2017 perustettu EkoRent Africa Ltd. avasi täyssähköautoilla toimivan taksipalvelun NopeaRiden Nairobissa elokuussa 2018. Vuonna 2022 NopeaRide sähköauto laivue oli suurin vain 100% sähköautoja käyttävä taksi palvelu Afrikassa.
