About Electrical Transmission & Distribution Partnership
The Electrical Transmission & Distribution (ET&D) Partnership is a formal collaboration of industry stakeholders dedicated to improving safety for workers in the electric line construction industry. Established in August 2004, it stands as one of the few national partnerships between employers and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Mission: Analyze accident and incident data to identify common causes of fatalities, injuries, and illnesses among linemen, apprentices, and related job classifications. Develop and promote Best Practices for each identified cause. Implement strategies to encourage the adoption of these Best Practices among partners. Identify and establish training criteria for various roles, including foremen, supervisors, linemen, and apprentices, to foster a culture that values safety and health. Impact: By 2023, the Partnership encompassed 16 member organizations, covering an estimated 80% of workers in the line construction industry.
