NGO Eleos-Ukraine

Eleos-Ukraine is a public organization based on faith. We are the official representative of the Synodal Department of Social Service and Charity of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The name Eleos comes from the Greek word Ελέος – mercy, mercy, compassion. These are the fundamental values on which our organization is built, and the explanation why we chose this name. The “Eleos-Ukraine” network includes 15 regional organizations in different cities of Ukraine. Our mission is to develop social service and help those who need protection and support. We strive for a society where every person, regardless of their life circumstances, has the opportunity to live with dignity, receive the necessary support and realize their potential. Our values: We believe that human life is the highest value and should be respected and protected. We respect the right of every person to have their own thoughts, beliefs and views. We are committed to helping those in need. We treat each other with dignity and kindness, valuing each person’s unique contribution. Our actions are based on the principles of responsibility, and we are careful with the resources entrusted to us. Who we help: to people who find themselves in difficult life circumstances and need outside help; women who have experienced various types of violence, including sexual violence by the Russian military; internally displaced persons and their family members; HIV-positive and people vulnerable to HIV; mobilized to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and members of their families; veterans and members of their families.
