Our Mission Statement: The Elgin Learning Foundation (ELF) serves disadvantaged communities of South Africa in mainly rural areas through education, training and development. Through our initiatives and programmes, we are actively involved in eradicating poverty in all its forms. Who are we: The Elgin Learning Foundation (ELF) is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation formed in 1995 to meet the needs of poverty-stricken communities in South Africa. Although we are situated in a rural environment and focussed on development in rural areas, we work anywhere and everywhere in the field of community development and capacity building. Areas of activity: • Agriculture • Education • Rural Primary Education Support • Health and Community Development • Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Our approach: 1. Education As an accredited training provider within the National Qualification Framework, we offer Further Education and Training (FET) in: • Ancillary Health Care : HIV/AIDS education, awareness and counselling • Agriculture • Small Business Development • Entrepreneurship and Innovation • Basic Education (literacy, numeracy and communication) • Project Management • Organisational Development • Lifeskills • Leadership • We design custom-made, accredited skills programmes in accordance with the skills development needs of the communities we work in.
