Elizabeth Quay Carousel

Experience the wonder and enjoyment of a traditional Venetian Carousel at Elizabeth Quay in Perth, Western Australia. The Elizabeth Quay Carousel has been brought to the Perth waterfront by local jeweler Rohan Milne, of bespoke jewellery boutique, Rohan Jewellers. After visiting a similar carousel with his family in Spain and experiencing the fine artisan work in person, Rohan was inspired to bring a similar joy to the people of Perth and visitors from around the world who can now experience this creation themselves. ‘Like many European cities, San Sebastian has a traditional, Venetian carousel on the boardwalk next to the main beach, La Concha. We experienced the wonder and simple enjoyment this carousel gave to our family and countless others on that trip. It was such a hit with our young children. It got us thinking that a similar carousel would be a wonderful attraction in Perth.’ This experience ignited the beginning of a journey into the world of carousels. With his passion for fine craftsmanship, Rohan spent time visiting carousels all over the world and countless hours researching the details that make each vintage, refurbished and new models so special. After which, he decided that an Italian built, traditional Venetian Carousel - crafted by the same company who built the carousel in front of the Eiffel Tower – would be a perfect fit for Elizabeth Quay. ‘The Elizabeth Quay Carousel had to be authentic, no short cuts or cheap imitations, it simply wouldn’t have the magic and quality of the real thing. The carousel horses and venetian artwork are all hand painted. It is incredible to witness the Italian craftsmanship.’ Built in the Veneto region of Northern Italy, the Elizabeth Quay Carousel has a combination of horses and carriages with hand-painted Venetian artworks. It has been created by some of Europe’s best artisans and is set to traditional carousel music, which is sure to delight both the young and young at heart.
