East London Kinetics is a physical/digital design studio specialising in the design and fabrication of bespoke interactive products and installations. Typically consisting of physical objects with embedded electronics controlled by custom software, our work is focussed on creating interesting, unusual and memorable methods of allowing people to interact with the world around them. Technology is typically the enabler in the things we do, but at heart our work is driven entirely by the desire to create magical experiences. ELK are experienced in working on a wide range of projects ranging from large scale, permanent public realm installations to temporary event pieces, functioning product prototypes and bespoke one-off objects. We live in exciting times, where advanced technologies and manufacturing techniques are becoming increasingly affordable and accessible. Where the ability to monitor the world around us is becoming commonplace, giving us access to rich seams of data to explore and play within. Where digital information is bleeding into the physical world at a fantastic rate, creating an ever evolving landscape that constantly presents us with experiences to which we have zero frames of reference.
