The heart, mind & spirit behind the Elliott Community Celebration Fund (ECCF) —it’s a dedicated way to honor my husband, Joe Elliott. My love of community spirit keeps me grounded as I turn grief into grace & inspiration into change. Here’s a little bit about ECCF = Elliott Community Celebration Fund. It’s a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) opened via the Stanislaus Community Foundation in November 2022, during the National Philanthropy Day Awards Ceremony at the Gallo Center for the Arts to honor Joe. Let me be crystal clear: I’m not your ordinary funder. I followed Joe’s request so I might not be the biggest donor, but I swing big for the fences. My enthusiasm & aim high comes from a little sprinkle of pixie dust. I have wild & crazy ideas, dreams & goals. I’m always hopeful, unconventional & I never settle for anything less than stellar. That’s where you come in, our community. I’m looking for visionaries, dreamers & doers with ideas, projects & opportunities that can help uplift our community. Have an opportunity that needs seizing? An issue that needs fixing? Bring it. Let’s talk. I call it “contemplative, measured, sustainable activities & development” —that’s fancy words for I’m a thoughtful listener & I’m willing to share what I’ve learned. If we can find the right strategy & balance, I’m all in for making those ideas a reality. Did I mention? I may look sweet, but I’m a fierce negotiator. Conversations with me can be challenging. I rarely say yes to helping on a first meeting. Also, it’s your responsibility to follow up with me! The best way to make me an interested fan is to know your programs—that’s crucial, inside & out.
