گروه مپنا در سال 1396 با انگیزه های زیست محیطی و توسعه حمل و نقل برقی در کشور با هدف بهینهسازی در مصرف سوخت، مرکز توسعه خودرو برقی و زیرساختها را با تمرکز بر زیرساختهای شارژ و پیشرانه برقی در شرکت مهندسی و ساخت برق و کنترل مپنا (مکو) تاسیس کرد. در سال 1401 و پس از گذشت پنج سال و با توجه به پروژهها و زمینههای مختلف فعالیت آن، این مرکز با رویکردی جدید به "مرکز کسبوکار برقیسازی" تغییر نام داده است. مهندسین در این مرکز، با تکیه بر دانش و استفاده از فناوری های روز، در زمینه توسعه زیرسیستمهای خودروهای برقی، توسعه پلتفرم های برقی برای خودروهای سبک و سنگین، طراحی و توسعه زیرساخت شارژ مورد نیاز حمل و نقل برقی، طراحی و توسعه باتری پک جهت بکارگیری در محصولات مختلف نظیر BESS خانگی و صنعتی، حمل و نقل ریلی در شاخه های سیگنالینگ – پروپالشن - پاوراگزیلاری و سیستم های جانبی حوزه ریلی و سرویس های متصل خودروهای برقی اقدام به ارائه راه حل هایی فناورانه و نوین مینمایند.
