Emera Utility Services (EUS) is one of the largest utility services contractors in Atlantic Canada. We are headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia and supported by additional facilities in Truro, NS. EUS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emera Inc., a geographically diverse energy and services company headquartered in Halifax, Nova Scotia with $29 billion in assets and 2016 revenues of more than $4 billion. EUS lines of service and areas of specialization include: • Transmission line construction and maintenance, including energized maintenance up to 138kV • Distribution line construction and maintenance, including energized maintenance up to 25kV • Substation & control building construction and maintenance • Wind farm engineering, procurement construction and maintenance • Emergency response and service restoration • Telecommunications installation & repair services • Telecommunications construction and splicing At EUS, we pride ourselves on our ability to coordinate the right team for each job. The right mix of project managers, construction managers, field engineers, foremen, power line technicians, apprentices, equipment operators, safety, procurement and admin support are all carefully considered to ensure the project is completed safely, with quality and on-time. Our technical staff is equipped with extensive project expertise. We employ approximately 250 trades persons during peak construction season, as well as 50 non-trades personnel made up of senior management, field management, engineering, safety, environment, procurement, and administrative support personnel. EUS has an experienced and knowledgeable workforce that is expanding in size and geography.
