Emerald Horizon is pioneering the generation of safe, CO2-free electricity on a scalable and self-sufficient scale, addressing one of the biggest challenges of the 21st century. The AG was founded in 2019 by the two investors and co-founders of Qbasis Invest Florian Wagner and Philipp Pölzl in Graz, Austria, due to a lack of promising investment opportunities in green energy.
Emerald Horizon's main focus is the development of an advanced nuclear power plant using thorium feedstock that fits into a standard shipping container and generates 25 MW of thermal heat (ADES). ADES' advanced nuclear technology consists of a unique combination of mainly existing and proven components.
The company is also developing a heat storage system (CALstore) together with the Bernard Group and the Institute of Thermal Engineering at Graz University of Technology.
Emerald Horizon is rounding off its offering with photovoltaic contracting, thus already providing low-cost green electricity today.
