The Emerging Markets Project (EMP) creates professional development trips that enable Canadian young professionals and students to gain the skills and knowledge needed to stand out in the global workforce while travelling abroad to some of the world’s fastest-growing nations. We do so by sending them on a 1-3 week curated educational experience in an emerging market that consists of masterclasses, workshops, and company visits. While there, they have the opportunity to network with local professionals, discover new opportunities for Canadians abroad, and gain market insights that will help them to achieve their career goals back home.
We aim to break down the fear, unconscious biases, and misconceptions that Canadian professionals have of emerging markets. We aim to foster international collaboration and opportunity for Canadians while educating them on universal skills including cultural awareness, adaptability, empathy, and human-centred design.
