The Data Interpreters Association (DIA) is a student-founded organization at Emory University dedicated to bridging the gap between data science and social impact.
We partner with local Atlanta-based nonprofits to turn raw data into actionable insights through data analysis, visualization, and storytelling. Each semester, student analysts work on real-world projects that help our nonprofit partners secure funding, optimize operations, and better communicate their mission to stakeholders.
By combining technical training in Python, Excel, and data visualization tools with hands-on project work, DIA empowers students to develop critical thinking, analytical, and consulting skills—while driving measurable impact in the local community. At the heart of DIA is a belief that data should not only inform, but inspire change.
