The European Multidisciplinary Organization for Training and international Consulting (EMOTiC) is a youth-led initiative with the aim to empowering and strengthening social youth workers, university undergraduates and graduates, high and mid-school students, young leaders, and early-career professionals on issues related to peace matters. Through capacity building trainings, seminars, and workshops we teach necessary, innovative, adaptive, and results-based tools, methods, and strategies in order to engage community workers in policymaking, policy change, and policy development to achieve a positive social change in their grassroots. As we understand ourselves as a bridge and a link between the youth, community, and policymakers, with our initiative we enhance youth as active members of peacebuilding through the promotion and provision of intercultural and interfaith diversity dialogue, multilateral negotiations, non-violent communication, conflict transformation and resolution, and social resilience and inclusion as the fundamental bases for social and peaceful cohesion and society coherence and peacebuilding processes and mechanisms.
History:
EMOTiC started originally as an informal university group in January 2016. It was then in 2017 formed into an association named "North Africa Capacity Building Forum" and it continued its work until August 2020 under this name with a special focus on North Africa. However, after recognizing the importance of broadening the network and after gaining a lot of experience in youth work in North Africa, in September 2020 the team has decided to include the rest of the Middle East and also to outstretch our work to Europe. As a result, The Euro-Mediterranean Organisation for Training and international Consultancy (EMOTiC) has become the successor of the former.
