By applying new technologies and advanced materials such as composites and shape memory alloys, we develop in collaboration with national and international universities, research institutes and industrial partners new solutions in the fields of structural strengthening, timber structures and structural dynamics with the goal to improve the safety, serviceability and durability of civil structures. The introduction and implementation of the new solutions in practice is promoted by collaboration with industry partners, teaching at universities and knowledge transfer in symposia.
Within our core competencies, we also provide the industry with high level services. The laboratory is equipped with a large testing hall and several unique testing machines, has skilled personnel with a vast experience in performing large scale static and dynamic laboratory and field tests and holds an ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for static and fatigue tests. It is the only accredited laboratory for large scale tests in Switzerland.
