Empatherapy.Sg

Empatherapy.sg is a collaborative programme that was developed ground-up in the Singapore Prison Service, leveraging on the success of peer support models and activating lived experiences to provide for prosocial relationships and communities to be formed and experience. Founded on Restorative Practices, some inmates are trained to be peer supporters to facilitate weekly circle session for their community, empowering them to become active agents in their own change rather than passive recipients. This eventually resulted in the birth of the Empatherapy Hub, which is the resource centre powering Empatherapy.sg and the Peer Supporter Academy, which equips, enables and empowers individuals to be more effective in their facilitation skills. This continues to develop and evolve to meet the changing rehabilitation needs within the prison setting and even out into the community....
