About EmpowerU Canada
Our first initiative, TogetherBench is a handcrafted bench made of 100% recycled material, such as refurbished furniture, abandoned wooden pallets, and recycled paint to target the issue of waste management, all while fostering inclusivity, empowerment, and sustainability. It serves as an interactive artwork within the community to embrace inclusivity and diversity, to empower others to connect with people from all walks of life, and to remind individuals that they belong. The bench will be placed in multiple areas of the city, Richmond where individuals can share their stories in the diary attached to the bench. Along with the creation of TogetherBench, we launched a series of marketing campaigns that showcases the local individuals in our community and raises awareness of furniture waste through interviews, documentaries, and facts. Finally, TogetherBench raised $500 to donate to the Rick Hansen Foundation to support their goal of creating a world without barriers.
