About Illinois Coalition to End Permanent Punishments
The Illinois Coalition to End Permanent Punishments (ENDPP.ORG) believes that access to housing, education, employment, and civic engagement are inherent human rights that promote a healthy society. An arrest or conviction record that follows people for life, negates their ability to grow and redefine themselves beyond their worst moments. We can eliminate generational poverty, provide more equal access to the basic resources families need to thrive and create the agency that so many people need to take control of their destinies. ENDPP.ORG’s mission is to end permanent punishments for individuals with arrest or conviction records by centering the leadership development of those directly impacted. ENDPP.ORG, an organization made up entirely of formerly incarcerated persons, passed the FREE Act in July 2023, restoring over 600,000 individuals to the legal right to administer their family’s estates, ensuring equal access to generational wealth building.
