Energy Local is a ground breaking social enterprise bring to together communities and local renewables to create local fair energy markets keeping more income in the local area. Energy Local believes that communities should be able to benefit from moving their use of energy to cheaper times of day and matching it to local generation. By forming Energy Local Clubs, local renewables can agree a price for power if households use local renewable power when it is generated. This is higher than generation would normally receive but lower than domestic electricity tariffs. Working together communities can manage local demand to reduce bills and carbon emissions.
