Welcome to the Energy Storage & Energy Conversion Systems Group led by Prof. Fabio La Mantia at the University of Bremen, where we drive innovation in energy storage and conversion systems to power the future. Our interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers works at the cutting edge of electrochemical science, to bring innovation from the fundamentals to new technologies: • Green Batteries: Developing next-generation post Li-ion battery systems with enhanced performance, safety, sustainability, and reduced costs. • Lithium recovery: Extracting lithium from untapped sources, such as geothermal waters, by using innovative electrochemical process technologies. • Modeling & Simulation: Utilizing advanced computational methods to simulate battery behavior, predict lifecycle, and optimize performance in real-world applications. • Dynamic Impedance Analysis: Leveraging impedance spectroscopy and other online diagnostic techniques to understand and improve battery health, durability, and efficiency in real time.
