We take a sophisticated approach to energy price forecasting by:
o Employing a bid-based plant dispatch model factoring in scheduled and random outages;
o Using seasonality in the Philippines to derive system demand profile and generation profile of hydro, solar, and wind; and,
o Applying probabilistic models to generate a large number of scenarios (>50) and to determine the possible price results
We use relevant public information such as market data, plant outage schedules, weather projections, and power projects under development to come up with the most probable market scenarios.
