Engineering Lean Ltd is a privately owned company whose sole director has a vision for sustainable continual improvement in engineering / manufacturing organisations. Lean transformation initiatives tend to start well as the savings are easily won. As savings become harder to justify momentum is lost and the programme dies. This is because too often the focus is on making savings rather than stopping losses. Ringi is one of the Toyota Principles: make decisions slowly through consensus thoroughly considering all options; implement rapidly. It is often cheaper and quicker in the long term to take the time to plan then implement efficiently and effectively than to rush into action risking detrimental ripple effects. Engineering Lean has been launched to help SMEs build sustainable continual improvement programmes by working with them to impart knowledge and experience so they become self sufficient.
