Enhanced Learning Tutoring Initiative

The Enhanced Learning Tutoring Initiative (ELTI) works with students across East Lothian and Midlothian, providing one-to-one and small group tutoring sessions. ELTI was set up in 2020 as an emergency intervention to provide support for pupils who were adversely affected by the Covid-19 restrictions. Funded by the STV Children’s Appeal and a local charity in East Lothian, and coordinated by Queen Margaret University, the project initially targeted eligible pupils in the six secondary schools in East Lothian, providing one-to-one and small group tutoring sessions online from the week beginning 18th January 2021. The initiative supported over 200 eligible S3 to S6 pupils across East Lothian in its first year.
