Environmental Humanities is a research and teaching initiative within the Faculty of Humanities at Leiden University, started in 2022. The group members come from various disciplines and are united in their interest in the role of inter- and transdisciplinary methods and expertise in studying the environment. The research group functions as a network of collaborating researchers from various institutes and faculties. Together, we organize workshops, guest lectures (by e.g. Daniel Pauly, Cornelia Nauen and Kate Brown), and a reading group. Researchers in this group also actively engage with environmental topics in their teaching. The faculty of Humanities at Leiden University offers a wide range of BA and MA courses on topics from the field of Environmental Humanities.
