We work within the local community as part of South Derbyshire District Council, organising school visits, public events, initiatives like our Free Tree Scheme and environmental volunteering / training for individuals and businesses.
We co-ordinate South Derbyshire Environmental Forum and are always looking for ways to work with partners to promote positive environmental messages and activity.
Our base is at Rosliston Forestry Centre in South Derbyshire and we work across the District and the National Forest with our key partners at the National Forest Company, Forestry England and Rolls-Royce plc.
Environmental volunteering for businesses is a key part of our work as we help companies and community groups to make improvements to their local area to benefit wildlife and people!
Creating and maintaining habitats also builds a great resource for schools, helping to educate future generations. It's such a great initiative to be part of and we aspire to give all our groups a positive environmental vibe to take away with them - schools, families, voluntary groups and businesses.
Wellbeing, physical activity and environmental improvement are at the heart of what we do.
Mobile Team Challenge Europe:
We are working together to develop a programme of environmental team building - an opportunity to get employees out into the countryside learning some key environmental messages and principles whilst gaining personal skills and enjoying activities to help build successful teams.
We also enjoy working with Teacher Training and higher/ further education groups to develop resources and provide work experience for trainees.
We have worked extensively with H&S advisors at South Derbyshire District Council to provide a safe environment for our partners and participants.
