Enzymatic is developing revolutionary enzyme-based technologies that leverage Materials Science and Biotechnology to dramatically lower embodied carbon in the built environment.
Our family of technologies has the potential to reduce carbon footprint across the entire lifecycle of concrete. We are developing:
1) A breakthrough biological technology, Enzymatic Carbon Capture Catalyst (EC3), which can enhance concrete durability up to 2.5 times. EC3 reduces permeability and rebar corrosion, and sequesters carbon dioxide into the concrete.
2) a groundbreaking approach to concrete recycling based on a novel enzyme that breaks down the Calcium Silicate Hydrate (C-S-H) bonds in cement;
3) a novel self-healing construction material as a carbon-neutral alternative to cement.
