The European project EoLO HUBS “Wind turbine blades End of Life through Open HUBs for circular materials in sustainable business models” funded by European Union, has started on January 1st, 2023 and will last 4 years.
Thus, the general objective of EoLO HUBS project is to demonstrate and validate a set of innovative composite material recycling technologies which will provide answer to the three main areas involved in the end of life wind farms recycling:
1. Decomissioning and pretreatment of wind turbine blades (handling, cutting, sorting, etc)
2. Sustainable fibre reclamation processes addressing two alternative routes: Low carbon pyrolysis and green chemistry solvolysis
3. Upgrading processes for the recovered fibres addressing glass fibres (mainly) as well as carbon fibres
