Epigenetics, the study of change in gene expression rather than a change in the genetic code itself, can contribute to reveal more about what regulates human health and disease and thereby improve human well-being. Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedding (FFPE) is still, after more than 130 years in use, the gold standard format for preservation of tissue samples. It is challenging to extract high quality nuclei DNA from FFPE samples – that is what we want to change.
