HiPEDS Research Centre - High Performance Embedded and Distributed Systems

The HiPEDS Centre focuses on High Performance Embedded and Distributed Systems. Launched in 2014, it combines the world-class strengths in Imperial’s Departments of Computing, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and industrial partners with high-calibre doctoral student cohorts. This has huge breadth, offering research opportunities ranging from implantable smart sensors to secure cloud service providers, and all points in between. Together we tackle the technologies and underlying theory that provide the keys to open up new applications, products, industries, businesses, and solutions to the problems of society. HiPEDS is a 4-year integrated Centre for Doctoral Training. Throughout the 4 years there is considerable emphasis upon multidisciplinary and transferable skills, through various leadership-building activities beyond the PhD research project, such as outreach, public engagement and internships and is supported by the EPSRC, Imperial College and industrial partners.
