EQRA Center for Training and Development

EQRA is Hargeisa's first integrated community space. Our programs reach thousands of people each year and continue to grow in the most exciting and organic ways. Through workshops, courswork and events we offer training and development in specialised, under serviced and extracurricular areas of education. With accessibility at the heart of our work, EQRA Centre offers both paid and free services to our community. We are incredibly grateful that we get to work and collaborate with some of Somaliland's most talented and skilled teachers, artists, content creators, academics, and business gurus to provide these services! Our Mission We envision a vibrant and inclusive future where our community thrives through the integration of arts, language, and culture. Our mission is to foster meaningful collaboration between local and global educators, bridging diverse artistic communities to inspire and connect people. By harnessing the transformative power of art and education, we aim to empower individuals and enrich our shared cultural landscape. Our Values We value the highest quality of training and engagement possible for our community. The core values that drive the culture, direction and management of EQRA are: Collaboration - Self-efficacy - Creativity - Community Born out of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in Somaliland, EQRA Centre was established in 2021 by sisters Ayan and Mona Liban. As a women-led social enterprise, EQRA is driven by a deep passion to uplift Hargeisa’s community through the arts.
