The Equality Party

We aim to unite people from diverse backgrounds to fight for equal rights and opportunities, so that everyone can contribute and thrive in our community and country. We are a feminist party that believes women’s equality benefits everyone, as government and other systems that impact our lives are designed to favour a small, privileged elite – a patriarchy. We seek to transform these patriarchal structures to create fairness and opportunity for all, leading to gender, race, disability, age, LGBTQIA+ and religious equality. Our goal is a more inclusive, equitable society with diverse voices in decision-making at all levels. The Equality Party is committed to achieving equal representation, equal pay, and tackling imbalances that hinder opportunities, especially for women, care-givers and minoritised groups. We call for equality in education and affordable childcare to unlock parents’ potential in the workplace and support children in the crucial early years. We seek a healthcare system that works for all, without discrimination. We will break down socio-economic and educational barriers, ensuring that disadvantages from previous generations do not limit opportunities for people today. We demand an end to gender-based and hate-motivated violence. We believe everyone has the right to define their own gender and pronouns. We view the global climate emergency and destruction of the natural environment as consequences of patriarchy. We believe a more equal world is also a more sustainable and resilient world for people and for Nature. We are working to create a society where equality leads to better politics, a stronger economy, and a more harmonious community.
