Who Are We?
Let's start with the name; EQUUS. How do you pronounce it? What does it mean? Why this name? These are all good questions so let's answer them one at a time.
EQUUS is the ancient Latin name for the Horse. According to the dictionary the pronunciation is [ˈɛ.kʷʊs] but for us mere mortals, we just say it like EK-WUS.
So what is the link between horses and computers you ask? Well for centuries the Horse has been seen as a symbol of prestige, and measurement of power and - until recently - an indispensable creature to complete work.
These are all attributes that we feel every computer should possess.
