About Environmental Research for Resource Recovery

Our mission is to maximize the value-added products recovery from wastes while reducing the greenhouse gas emissions. In ER3 group, we are working intensively on developing different technologies for sustainable resource recovery from wastes while protecting the environment with focus on anaerobic digestion and dark fermentation. Energy security and climate change are the top two international topics need to be addressed. Therefore, developing a sustainable solids waste management and treatment becomes vital. There various technologies that can both treat the wastes, recover many value added products, and reduce the greenhouse gas emissions. Biomethane can be recovered through anaerobic digestion, biohydroegn, volatile fatty acids, and alcohols can be recovered through fermentation, and nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus) can be also recovered by different techniques.
