Ergo is a biotech-based startup, focused on the production of key, whilst complex, animal proteins, by plant cell precision fermentation.
Plant cells are the most sophisticated biological systems in the universe. For many years we thought that the only way to take advantage of its complexity was through the cultivation of genetically modified plants on large surfaces. But now at Ergo Bioscience we have developed a platform that allows us to "program" plant cells with multiple simultaneous genetic modifications, and simultaneously, allow us to produce millions of them in bioreactors, in the same way that millions of computer processors are produced in series. This is the revolution of plant cells!
To initiate the revolution of plant cells, we have developed clones capable of expressing mammalian proteins, reproducing their entire structure, with the aim of taking plant foods to another organoleptic and nutritional level. We can produce bovine myoglobin for application in plant-based meat and bovine caseins for application in plant-based cheeses.
