Ermes .net is a networking project that aims at improving tourism as a tool of development for territories and communities through the contents and journey experience proposals of small-medium size operators (profit and non profit) promoting soft, fair tourism forms based on items of consciousness and sustainability.
It was founded in 2004 as an association and become a business project in 2007 inspired by the Italian criteria chart for responsible travels founded by Aitr.
The technological and multichannel platform of Ermes .net - one of the project outputs - raises social awareness on the impacts of tourism and proposes concrete alternatives of travel experiences. The project is also developing a digital channel TV (also available via Internet) and a social network as tools of viral diffusion on the web, sharing experiences and best practice for local communities, tourists, guides and tour operators.
Ermes.net è un progetto di cross media networking che ha l'obiettivo di fare del turismo, strumento per lo sviluppo del territorio e delle comunità residenti attraverso l'espressione di contenuti e proposte di esperienze di viaggio o soggiorno da parte di organizzatori di viaggio (profit e non profit) di piccole e medie dimensioni che promuovono forme di vacanza "soft" e attente alle loro ricadute sul territorio, basate su valori quali la "consapevolezza" e la sostenibilità.
Ermes.net, nata come associazione, è divenuta nel 2007 un progetto che si affaccia sul mercato del viaggio su internet, ispirandosi a principi espressi dalla "carta per viaggi sostenibili" di Aitr, associazione italiana turismo responsabile.
