Eastern Shore Area Health Education Center (ESAHEC), a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, which became operational in 1997. Governed by a Board of Directors, ESAHEC is located in Dorchester County, MD, a federally designated Medically Underserved Community (MUC) and Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) and serves the nine counties comprising Maryland’s Eastern Shore. ESAHEC has over twenty-five (25) years of managing federal, state, and foundation grants.
ESAHEC’s mission is to: Improve access to quality health services through community and educational partnerships by increasing the supply of health care professionals serving vulnerable populations (with an emphasis on primary care), providing continuing education and training to practicing health care professionals and students, and serve as facilitator for the discussion of community health issues.
