About Integrated Regional Employability & Skills (IRES)

The Integrated Regional Employability and Skills (IRES) Programme, part of the Edinburgh & South East Scotland City Region Deal, is dedicated to advancing regional labour market policy and practice for inclusive growth. With seven themes, the programme has an extensive network of partners including six local authorities, educational institutions, businesses, and non-profit organisations who collaborate to address skill demands and opportunities for regional growth. Securing £25 million in Scottish Government funding for eight years, IRES aims to enhance the skills for 14,700 people, support 5,300 people into employment, and support 500 people to advance their careers. Now in its fifth year of delivery, the IRES program is exceeding its targets and objectives across its seven themes: • Data Skills Gateway • Housing Construction and Infrastructure Skills Gateway • Integrated Employer Engagement • Intensive Family Support Service • Workforce Mobility • Labour Market Analysis and Evaluation • Integrated Knowledge Management Systems
